Ive walked across a number of cities and will definetly return to venice at some point
with enough money to buy 400 masks. (not the glittery ones the ugly old man ones
Reason for travelling to Venice was the 53rd Bienalle art program. We saw on average 300 or so pieces of work, from things that were huge and enveloping to things that were tiny and well... alot of videos. All together for some of the supposed best work in the world there were equal -in my eyes- gems for the flops. Im dissappointed to see everythign so installation based as it seems the art gallery is tipping more and more towards a theme park area, large spaces that transform you into an entertaining other world - but this may have been due to the shows theme being "making worlds."
Our second project for the uni program however was a collaboartive art project, my partner was a fellow named james and we did a piece on spaces and passageways consisting of an installation on the back of a door, and a projection onto a wall/roof space. Ill try and post an image but as with alot of installation its kinda hard to get the feeling of it unless your there.
Trying to get some more painting done, ive done a few little things but am also working on a portrait that was requested of me. How is australia / every where else in the world?
luv liz
